Meet Sarah Kucharski

  1. Out of which Elite locations do you conduct training?

I train at Elite-Mequon.

  1. How long have you been a personal trainer and how long have you worked at Elite?

I have been a personal trainer for a year and a half, and I have been with Elite since July 2021.

  1. What made you want to start working as a personal trainer and/or for Elite?
As a future physical therapist, I became a personal trainer to help me gain experience for working with all different types of people and developing trustworthy relationships. I have always had a passion for helping others, and I absolutely love learning about all the things the human body is capable of.
  1. What is your favorite part about being a personal trainer?

Helping my clients realize they are so much stronger than they think they are. I love seeing people take on challenges to better themselves, and seeing the results that come with hard work. Plus, I also love the creative side that comes with showing clients new ways to move and strengthen various muscles.

  1. What areas of exercise/fitness do you consider to be your specialty?

Working with the population of people just getting back into exercise after some time off. I love helping to expand individual’s exercise libraries and to get their body back moving so they feel stronger, more confident, and have more energy throughout the day.

  1. What has been your biggest personal struggle with health/fitness?

Time. I currently am in grad school at Carroll University for Physical Therapy, so I, too, have those moments where there just isn’t enough time in the day. I live for the challenge, so I feel it is important to get into a solid routine that allows you to still focus on yourself despite the million other things going on. Manage your time, and make yourself a priority.

  1. What has been your biggest personal accomplishment with health/fitness?

Getting my personal training certification is something I take pride in because it has allowed me to help other people by sharing the knowledge I have spent a long time gaining.

  1. What advice do you give people who are starting a workout program for the first time or after a long absence?
Half the battle is already complete when you decide to get back to the gym. There are so many people like myself who are here to help you stay motivated, and to find ways to enjoy exercise. It is okay to be nervous or anxious about returning, but just think of the changes that are possible if you just take that first step. Have a growth mindset, and become comfortable being uncomfortable!
  1. What advice do you give people who are struggling to make health/fitness a priority or are getting bored/burned out?

Always remember why you started. Try something new, find a workout buddy, talk to someone to see what different things they implement into their health and fitness routine.

  1. What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life in general?

I find that people feel there is so much that goes into health and fitness relating to exercising or nutrition, that they just have no idea where to even begin. Start with one aspect, and progress from there. Don’t be afraid to ask for advice or suggestions if you feel you are stuck! All it takes is that first step that will lead you to a world of possibilities.
