Meet Ryan Schmidt

  1. Out of which Elite locations do you conduct training?

I train at Elite Sports Club-Mequon.

  1. How long have you been a personal trainer and how long have you worked at Elite?
I started at Elite in September 2023.
  1. What made you want to start working as a personal trainer and/or for Elite?

I have a strong passion for fitness and genuinely love working with a variety of individuals on their personal goals. I utilize the experiences from my own personal fitness journey and education to support others in accomplishing their goals. I find it rewarding to support others in their fitness goals.

  1. What is your favorite part about being a personal trainer?

I love being able to help individuals with identifying their goals and creating a custom plan to achieve their goals together.

  1. What areas of exercise/fitness do you consider to be your specialty?

I specialize in strength training, weight loss, and muscle building/body building. In the past 5 years, I have increased my own muscle mass by 45 lbs. I thrive working with others on goals that are important to them personally.

  1. What has been your biggest personal struggle with health/fitness?

I struggled being the “skinny kid” growing up, and have worked hard to build my fitness level and muscle mass. Being able to accomplish personal goals for myself has given me a new perspective on helping others with their own challenges.

  1. What has been your biggest personal accomplishment with health/fitness?

I love challenging my personals limits. While in college, I was able to squat 400 lbs after working diligently on my fitness over 4-5 years. I am always setting personal fitness goals for myself and I encourage my clients to always be training for something.

  1. What advice do you give people who are starting a workout program for the first time or after a long absence?

Focus on your form and develop a mind/muscle connection first. I believe that any meaningful accomplishment will require hard work and dedication.

  1. What advice do you give people who are struggling to make health/fitness a priority or are getting bored/burned out?

Remember the initial goal you have set for yourself and the progress you have made. Celebrate your wins throughout your journey.

  1. What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life in general?

In order to make a change to improve one’s health, it will require consistency and showing up – even on the bad days.
