First Comes Love, Then Comes The Gym

First Comes Love, Then Comes The Gym

Everyone wants to look good for their significant other. However working out isn’t always the most fun thing in the world to do, and it does take time.

Everyone also wants to do things with their significant others. Go on dates, watch TV on the couch, or hanging with the kids.

But life gets busy, and often you have to choose between hitting the town for date night and hitting the gym for yourself. What if I told you, that you could do both?

Here is a little list of ways you can turn a workout into a whirlwind romantic date.

1. Just like when you go out, when you workout you can ditch the kids.

You love your children, but it’s nice to just spend some time with the person you raise them with. When you go to the gym two of the main benefits are getting a workout in, and letting your kids go hog wild with a babysitter or make new friends in a gym child care center.

2. Working out together will bring you closer.

Motivating and supporting your significant other at the gym is different than motivation and support you provide at home. Fighting through something physical together allows you to experience a strenuous situation in a way that is different than fighting through the domestic issues we all face. This allows you to build your relationship further and creates depth and dimension in your relationship.

3. Improving your lifestyle lasts a lifetime.

Stay healthy together and you can be in each others lives longer. Working out helps reduce your risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.

4. It’s fun!

Working out releases endorphins which make you happy. When you exercise your mood improves. Building a healthier mind and body can help you get along better with your spouse. So maybe the next time your significant other leaves the dishwasher door open…you don’t get so mad.

So, the next time you and your partner want to spend some time together, consider the weight room, an exercise class, or the tennis court rather than the movie theater, a restaurant, or a coffee shop.
