Pickleball Courts to Check Out in the Milwaukee Area

pickleball courts in Milwaukee

Looking to pick up one of the hottest sports in pickleball? Unfortunately, the amount of dedicated pickleball courts in Milwaukee is limited. There are certainly plenty of tennis courts to use, but the lines may not be drawn and you’ll have to bring your own nets and equipment. However, there are several places you can play that are ready to go. Here are some indoor and outdoor pickleball courts to check out in the Milwaukee area.

Pickleball Courts in Milwaukee

Riverwalk Commons Pickleball Courts in Milwaukee

The Riverwalk Commons pickleball courts are located at 423 N Water St. just underneath I-794 near the Milwaukee Public Market in the Historic Third Ward. Riverwalk Commons has two outdoor pickleball courts. These are probably the most popular and well-known outdoor pickleball courts in the area, so finding availability may be difficult.

Sijan Pickleball Courts in Milwaukee

The Sijan Pickleball Courts are located at 2800-2898 S California St in Milwaukee. The lines for pickleball are drawn but nets are not available so you must bring your own.

Elite Sports Clubs Pickleball Courts in Brookfield, Mequon & Glendale

With the largest pickleball program in the Milwaukee area, Elite Sports Clubs has dedicated indoor pickleball courts at three of its four Milwaukee-area facilities. You can play pickleball at Elite-Brookfield (13825 W Burleigh Rd), Elite-Mequon (11616 N Port Washington Rd), and Elite-River Glen (2001 Good Hope Rd).

Pickleball for Beginners

In general, pickleball is easy to learn for beginners. You can read about the official rules online and get started playing as long as you have access to a pickleball court, wiffle ball, paddles, a net (if not provided). However, you need opportunities to play and practice your skills with other players. Public courts are great when they’re available, but availability may be hard to come by in spring, summer, and fall when the weather is warm. Playing at your local health club will grant you easy access through reservation systems and designated open play times, and it’s easy to set up matches with your fellow members. Also, new players can benefit from formal instruction such as lessons, clinics, or classes.

Pickleball Lessons

What are you looking to use the pickleball courts for? Looking to just play recreational pickleball? Learning the game for the first time? In any case, it may benefit players to get instruction from a pickleball professional. Especially helpful for new players, pickleball lessons will help you pick up on the game much more quickly. You’ll learn about the rules and basics of the game, hitting with the paddle, serving, rallying, etc.

Pickleball Classes

Once you’ve got some experience under your belt and you’ve graduated from beginner lessons, pickleball classes are meant for intermediate players who have more familiarity with the game, have comfort with a pickleball paddle, and know routine shots. This program is designed to help you with drill shots, as well as learn and apply different pickleball strategies. You’ll also be in a group setting so you can make friends, find a pickleball partner to play doubles, and grow your network for future match play opportunities and make pickleball part of your ongoing recreational life.

Indoor Pickleball Courts

Elite Sports Clubs has indoor pickleball courts in three facilities located around the Milwaukee area, allowing you to play all year long. Join up for open play for a recreational experience, participate in pickleball classes/clinics to improve your game, or take private pickleball lessons to get more individualized instruction. Hello:
I am looking for a location to play pickleball as part of a work outing. We would not have our own equipment and could probably use some basic instruction. The event would take place from 1 – 4. Date is TBD. Do you have the ability to facilitate this type of event?
