We’re extremely proud of our members. Over the years their work out agendas and sporting endeavors serve as healthy examples of how it feels to be “Elite,” and how exercise not only adds years to your life, but life to your years! Today we’d like to highlight another member’s experience:

“My name is Bill and I am 66 years old and have been a member at the club for approximately 9 years.

I retired from Rockwell Automation after 46 years on September 30th of 2013 and was a Corporate Event Planner for 25 years. Many associates I worked with and many in Hospitality Profession were my friends. So, come retirement I had to develop a new lifestyle.

I am not going to hide what happened. Withdrawal from that life was difficult. After going through some sessions to assist with the transition, it was suggested that a regular exercise program would help.

So, after consulting with Danielle, who is the concierge at Elite Sports Club-Brookfield, about meeting a trainer I ended up working with Sue Patt. We had a meeting about my goals and what I needed for structure each week as well as exercise. Since starting, I now work out 5-6 days a week either at Elite Sports Club or Silver Sneakers locations.

I lost 15 pounds, and my outlook on this new part of my life is much better too. Meeting many other club members who are retired like myself and getting to know almost all trainers by name and reception staff has been great. My spouse, Jan of course has also made note of changes—being very positive. My blood pressure remains at a great level, pulse is good too. My blood pressure medicine has gone from 200 MG a day to 25 MG . So, very positive changes indeed! My thanks to the supportive folks at the club who continue to assist me on this journey!”
