I’m the Director of Children’s Programming at Elite-River Glen.
- How long have you been working in the health/fitness/tennis industry and how long have you worked at Elite?
I’ve been working in the fitness industry since 2019, and I started at Elite in March 2024.
- What made you want to start working in this industry and/or for Elite?
The active environment serves as a great source for motivation. I enjoy working in an environment that cultivates continuous growth.
- What is your favorite part about your job?
My favorite part of the job is the ability to give young members opportunity to learn, grow, and excel through our variety of programming offerings.
- What activities do you participate in at the club or outside of the club that are health/fitness/tennis related?
I look to take advantage of all the club programs we have to offer. I appreciate the opportunity to train in different areas.
- What has been your biggest personal struggle with health/fitness/tennis?
Staying consistent in my fitness routine. I feel my best mentally and physically when I stay consistent with my health and fitness.
- What has been your biggest personal accomplishment with health/fitness/tennis?
In 2019, I ran a sprint triathlon. Growing up, I played sports that focused on short bursts of endurance. Endurance training was out of my comfort zone. I learned to build towards goals and didn’t allow myself to get discouraged early on in my training.
- What advice do you give people who are coming to the club for the first time?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. All Elite staff love engaging with our members and have expert knowledge in all areas of the health and fitness industry.
- What advice do you give people who are struggling to make health/fitness/tennis a priority or are getting bored/burned out?
Try new programming. We have a wide variety of programs at various levels. A change in routine may be the motivation boost you’re looking for.
- What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life in general?
Dedicate at least 30 minutes a day to stay active. Build this into your weekly schedule and continue to push yourself over time.
