Meet Emily Duschene
- Out of which Elite locations do you conduct training?
I train at Elite Sports Club-Mequon and Elite-North Shore.
- How long have you been a personal trainer and how long have you worked at Elite?
- What made you want to start working as a personal trainer and/or for Elite?
From a young age, I’ve always enjoyed being active, and my passion for fitness has only continued to grow. I wanted to share my passion and knowledge to help others build confidence, improve their health, and feel more comfortable being active. Elite Sports Clubs appealed to me because of its supportive environment, strong sense of community, and focus on individualized coaching.
- What is your favorite part about being a personal trainer?
My favorite thing about being a trainer is building strong relationships with clients and supporting them as they work toward their fitness goals. Seeing their hard work pay off and watching them gain confidence and success over time is the most rewarding part of the job.
- What areas of exercise/fitness do you consider to be your specialty?
My specialties include strength training and functional movement, focusing on creating programs that are individualized to each client’s goals, abilities, and needs. I emphasize proper movement patterns and long-term progress.
- What has been your biggest personal struggle with health/fitness?
My biggest personal struggle has been staying consistent during busy or stressful periods of life. Working through this has taught me the importance of balance, flexibility, and sustainable habits. It has shaped how I approach fitness in a realistic and supportive way for myself and others.
- What has been your biggest personal accomplishment with health/fitness?
My biggest personal accomplishment has been learning how to listen to my body and support my goals through consistency, balance, and proper nutrition rather than pushing perfection.
- What advice do you give people who are starting a workout program for the first time or after a long absence?
My advice is to start slow and allow yourself time to build. Staying consistent, focusing on proper movement, and being patient with the process will help create sustainable progress.
- What advice do you give people who are struggling to make health/fitness a priority or are getting bored/burned out?
Fitness doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing and should support your life, not add stress to it. Focusing on small, realistic habits, finding movement you enjoy, and allowing flexibility and rest can help prevent burnout and create a healthier relationship with fitness.
- What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life in general?
My advice is to start with small, realistic changes/goals and focus on consistency rather than perfection. Paying attention to nutrition and finding movement you enjoy can help build healthy habits that last!
