We’re excited to share the story of David Horneffer, an Elite Sports Club member. He was selected as the area tennis player of the year by the Journal Sentinel. David also took second at state for the second straight season.
Here’s an excerpt from the Journal Sentinel feature on David:
Brookfield East coach Linda Lied was pleased when she heard Spartans junior David Horneffer was selected as the area tennis player of the year by the Journal Sentinel.
“He really is just a quality young man,” she said. “He doesn’t act like he’s a big man and everybody should be looking at him. … When you put him on the court, he’s always businesslike, very classy when he’s playing. He focuses on what he needs to get done and gets it done. He’s a brilliant student and a great kid. He’s been a wonderful on-court leader for his teammates.”
Horneffer recently finished as Division 1 state runner-up for the second consecutive season.
