Meet Emily Kirchhoff
- What classes do you currently teach?
I teach Vinyasa Flow, Power Yoga, and Barre Fusion at Elite-Brookfield.
- How long have you been teaching group exercise?
I have been teaching yoga and barre for 3 years.
- What made you want to start teaching group exercise?
I’ve always been passionate about movement, wellness, and fitness. I studied dance and exercise science in college, which led me into getting my yoga teaching certification.
- What is your favorite part about teaching your class(es)?
My favorite part about teaching classes is seeing the students who keep showing up every week. They light up my day and I hope I can light up theirs as well!
- What is your favorite song or style of music to teach to?
I enjoy teaching to house and dance music because it always makes me want to move!
- What is your favorite exercise to do in your class?
- How do you stay active outside of your own classes?
I love to run, hike, lift weights, and practice yoga.
- What else do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I love to cook, travel, dance, and spend time with friends and family.
- What advice do you give people who are coming into your classes for the first time?
Just to bring yourself, your energy, and be open-minded!
- What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life?
Drink lots of water, find an exercise that you enjoy, and also listen to your body and take time to rest! Your mental health is just as important as your physical health, so be kind to yourself.
