Here in Wisconsin we have been far from the “frozen tundra” our state has been so fondly nicknamed. Granted, it’s only October, but this time of year tends to be quite unpredictable for our lovely corner of the world. We have seen everything from rain, to sleet, to snow during the Autumn months. (I fondly remember Trick-or-Treating in my snowpants one year as a child.)
However, mother nature has thrown us for a loop once again and we are having some unseasonably warm and sunny days. So, here at Elite Sports Clubs we have decided to squeeze in a few more outdoor fitness activities while we still can.
Below is a list of some great activities that can be enjoyed outdoors, but tend to be particularly pleasant during the Fall.
- Hiking
- Biking
- Walking
- Running
- Golfing
- Soccer
- Football
- Yoga
- Rollerskating or Rollerblading
- Frisbee Golf or Ultimate Frisbee
- Kayaking or Canoeing
- Dog Walking/Fetch at the dog park
- Horseback Riding
- Raking Leaves
- Gardening
- Apple Picking
- Pumpkin Picking
- Corn Mazes
Plan a few of these activities into each week and you won’t feel like you missed out on the beautiful changes the Fall season brings, plus you will burn calories doing it!
Tips: Check out the Fall Color Report to find out when your area will hit its peak tree color. See what local Run/Walk races are going on and sign up for one. Consider changing how you commute to each of these activities (bike or walk instead of driving).
What are your favorite Fall outdoor activities? At what temperature is it just too cold for you to exercise outside? Tell us in the comments!
