Meet Laura Garcia

  1. Out of which Elite locations do you conduct training?

I train at Elite Sports Club-Mequon.

  1. How long have you been a personal trainer and how long have you worked at Elite?
I have been a personal trainer since 2013 and I joined Elite in December 2025.
  1. What made you want to start working as a personal trainer and/or for Elite?

It was the history! Elite Sports Clubs has been around since the 1980s, and has had impressive innovation and progression ever since!

  1. What is your favorite part about being a personal trainer?

My favorite part about being a personal trainer is witnessing that moment when a client experiences a spark—when they feel empowered and begin to believe in what they’re capable of. I enjoy building strong relationships and trust so we can work together to set and achieve meaningful goals. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a client leave a session feeling happy, confident, and knowing they’re making real progress toward becoming their best self.

  1. What areas of exercise/fitness do you consider to be your specialty?

Strength training, circuit training, TRX, weight loss, fat loss, building muscle/strength, functional movements, mobility, and core training.

  1. What has been your biggest personal struggle with health/fitness?

Life is busy. You have to make health & fitness important—because YOU are.

  1. What has been your biggest personal accomplishment with health/fitness?

Once I ran a full marathon (26.2 miles) nonstop without walking for a single moment. It was rough!

  1. What advice do you give people who are starting a workout program for the first time or after a long absence?

Give yourself grace. You don’t have to rush in and potentially hurt yourself. The strength will be back before you know it!

  1. What advice do you give people who are struggling to make health/fitness a priority or are getting bored/burned out?

Make it fun! Get a new water bottle or workout top. Try a new fitness class. Find an accountability partner.

  1. What personal advice do you give someone who is looking to get to a healthier point in their life in general?

Don’t go to hard too fast—it’s a fast way to get injured. A personal training session would be a good recommendation for this person to learn about proper form, etc.
