As parents, we all want our children to lead healthy and active lives. One way to foster this lifestyle is by introducing them to fitness at a young age. At Elite Sports Clubs, we understand the importance of catering to our younger members and providing them with safe and effective options to explore fitness. We’ll explore the various teen fitness options available at our health club, including our Junior Fitness Orientation program and more.
Junior Fitness Orientation
For juniors between the ages of 10 and 14, we offer a specialized Junior Fitness Orientation program. This program is designed to help young members get acquainted with the fitness center environment and learn how to safely use the equipment. Led by one of our experienced personal trainers, this orientation covers proper technique, safety guidelines, and gym etiquette.
It’s important to note that junior members at Elite can begin lifting weights as young as 10 years old, provided they complete our Junior Fitness Orientation program first. However, children in this age group are not permitted to use treadmills or other cardio equipment, even after completing the orientation. Teens ages 15-17 can use the treadmills and other fitness center equipment if they complete the junior fitness orientation.
Private Training Sessions
Another option for teens looking to kickstart their fitness journey is to work with a personal trainer in one-on-one private sessions. These sessions provide personalized attention and guidance, allowing teens to focus on their specific fitness goals in a safe and supportive environment. You can also discuss any sports-specific goals your teen may have. For example, if your teen is training to improve their agility or power for high school football, the trainer may be able to tailor the program to align with those goals.
Group Exercise Classes
Joining group exercise classes can be a fun and motivating way to stay active. Elite Sports Clubs offers a variety of group classes, from cardio and strength training to yoga and dance. While these classes are open to teens, we recommend participants be ages 16 and above to ensure participants can safely follow along with the instructor’s cues and movements.
Safety First
At our health club, safety is our top priority. We understand that the fitness center can be an intimidating place, especially for younger members. That’s why we emphasize the importance of proper technique, safety guidelines, and gym etiquette in all of our programs and orientations.
We also expect all members, regardless of age, to respect others in the fitness center who are there for the purpose of exercise. This includes following equipment usage rules, cleaning up after oneself, and being mindful of others’ personal space.
There are plenty of options available to teens at our health club to explore fitness in a safe and supportive environment. Whether they choose to participate in our Junior Fitness Orientation program, work with a personal trainer, or join group exercise classes, we’re here to help them on their journey to a healthier lifestyle.
