Check out all the 2022 local races in the Greater Milwaukee area! This comprehensive guide will help you coordinate which races to participate in your area. They are organized alphabetically by location.

With so many 2022 local races in the Milwaukee area, how do you choose just one? Well, the way we look at it, there’s no need to limit yourself! Choose what motivates you the most, be it modeling a healthy lifestyle for your kids, spending time with friends, supporting a cause, fund-raising for a charity, or pushing yourself to reach a goal.

Brookfield:

Steeplechase 5K Run/2 Mile Walk

July 16th, 2022 | St. Dominic Catholic Parish

All entrance fees support the St. Dominic Catholic Parish.

Turkey Trot

November 26th, 2022 | Fox Brook Park, 2925 N Barker Rd

This year will be the 5th Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Kelly Johnson Foundation.

Cudahy:

Cudahy Classic

August 2022 (TBD) | Sheridan Park

One of Wisconsin’s oldest and most storied running events, the Cudahy Classic is into its sixth decade. Dubbed “The Strider Original”, it offers a 10-mile, 5-mile, and children’s 1-mile race. Perfect for PR’s, this fast and flat 5-mile loop course goes through beautiful Sheridan park, the 10 milers get to complete the loop twice.

Delafield:

Badgerland 24, 12 & 6 Hour Run

September 3rd-4th, 2022 | Lapham Peak State Park

Runners will be gathering at Lapham Peak State Park to see how many miles they can cover in the time frame selected; the 12 and 6 hour divisions have day or night options.  There is also the “Distance” division, for runners who want to cover a certain distance (such as a marathon, 50K, 50 miles, etc.), but feel they may need more time than the 6 or 12 hours.

Fox Point:

The Cupcake Run

August 2022 (TBD) | Stormonth School 7301 N Longacre Rd 

The Fox Point-Bayside PTO Cupcake Color Run is back in person in August! To make this community-centric event even more fun and inclusive, we are enhancing the race format to a flat 1-mile run & walk and coordinating additional family-fun activities to create the first annual Cupcake Color Run & Block Party event! You’ll have a great time for a great cause: raising money for our community schools. You don’t want to miss it!

Hales Corners:

Firecracker Four

July 4th, 2019 | Hales Corners Park

Join Badgerland Striders at Hales Corners for their 4th of July celebrations! In addition to the 4-mile timed race, there is a 1.7-mile fun run, so the whole family can get involved in the nation’s birthday.

Mequon:

Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour

July 23rd-24th, 2022

The Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour is a two-day, 150-mile, fully-supported cycling event that is open to riders of all ages and abilities. One of Wisconsin’s most popular bike rides, the Scenic Shore 150 is the largest locally organized and supported event for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. With 1,300 riders raising over $1 million we continue to be one of the premier charity cycling events in the Midwest. The beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan is the picturesque setting for a weekend of riding the shore for a cure! We invite you to join up to 1,300 cycling enthusiasts who will pedal 150-miles in support of a cure for blood cancer. Your life will be changed as you are cheered on and supported on the route by blood cancer survivors and their families!

Milwaukee:

5K Famous Racing Sausages Run/Walk 

July 2022 (TBD) | Miller Park

Here’s your chance to get as close to running the bases like the Brewers as you can! Join the Brewers Community Foundation – and those Famous Racing Sausages – in running or walking through Miller Park. All participants receive a Brewer’s ticket voucher for a future game, a commemorative t-shirt, a hot dog, water, and a beer (for those 21-and-over).

Capuchin Walk For The Hungry

June 10th, 2022 | Henry Maier Festival Park Mid-Gate (Summerfest) 

Register for the Capuchin Walk for the Hungry and help feed, clothe and care for those in need. St. Ben’s Community Meal serves the hungry and homeless supper 6 nights per week. The House of Peace’s Emergency Food Pantry operates one of the largest food pantries in the city. Capuchin Community Services operates both sites. We offer other services including warm clothing, blankets, bus tickets, counseling and much more.

June 12th, 2022 | Veterans Park

Be part of our journey to raise awareness and understanding of mental illness. Join Dr. Adel Korkor as he runs a 5k race in all 50 states in 50 days. Proceeds for these events will go to support programs for those suffering from mental illness.

Superun 5K

June 2022 (TBD) | East Side of Milwaukee’s Lake Park

Join the Badgerland Striders for the annual Superun 5K. This race has been a tradition for over 30 years, so grab a group of friends and join the fun! Held on the east side of Milwaukee’s Lake Park, runners will have the opportunity to run a quick 5K before enjoying the rest of their summer day in the sun.

Storm the Bastille 5K

July 14th, 2022 | Corner of Jefferson & Wells, Downtown Milwaukee 

Join 5,000 of your fellow runners for the Storm the Bastille 5K. Runners and walkers from across Milwaukee gather to commemorate the storming of the Bastille, the 18th century French prison that sparked the French Revolution. Make sure to stick around for the party that follows this fun night run.

Run Back to School

August 27th, 2022 | Wick Playfield

The entire community is welcome to join us this August to kick off the 2022-23 school year with this 5K race/1.5-mile walk through Washington Park. Join us to show support our young people, teachers, and MPS staff! Proceeds from the event are used to support youth recreation, wellness, and sports programs throughout the district.

Strider Half Marathon

August 2022 (TBD) | 4400 N Estabrook Drive

Join 1,000 of Wisconsin’s best striders and tackle the Strider Half Marathon. Long known as one of Milwaukee’s best half marathons, the Strider Half is sure to challenge you like no other half marathon will.

Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon

October 2nd, 2022 | Milwaukee Lakefront

One of Milwaukee’s most popular races, the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon is where runners challenge themselves. This flat, scenic, point-to-point course travels south through rural countryside, quiet neighborhoods and finishes along the shores of Lake Michigan just north of the Milwaukee Art Museum at Veterans Park. The fall race is a Boston Marathon qualifier, so there will be serious runners along with those tackling a marathon for the first time. There is also a family-friendly 5k and a 2-person marathon team relay on marathon morning.

Port Washington:

Port Fish Day Walk/Run to benefit Portal, Inc.

July 16th, 2022 | Downtown Port Washington

The 58th annual Port Fish Day festival plays host to its traditional 8K run (a competitive, timed event) and a 2-mile fun run/walk. Runners will race through historic downtown Port Washington and along the lakefront through the city’s famous marina. All proceeds benefit Portal Inc., a local not-for-profit human service agency serving adults with disabilities.

Wauwatosa:

2022 TOSA Youth Tri

August 13th, 2022 | TOSA Pool at Hoyt Park

Who says adults get to have all the 5K fun? The Friends of Hoyt Park & Pool is hosting its sixth-annual youth triathlon, for kids ages 9 to 15. Swimming takes place at TOSA Pool, with biking along the Menomonee River Parkway. The Oak Leaf Trail surrounding Hoyt Park will host the running portion.

West Allis:

Cream City 5K

April 30th, 2022 | Greenfield Park

Since 2016, the Cream City 5K has been raising awareness for organ, tissue and eye donation in southeastern Wisconsin and we are excited to return the Cream City 5K to Donate Life Month! Our family friendly event features a 5K run/walk, a 3K walk and Kellan’s Fun Run for Kids—something for everyone! The Cream City 5K is on a fast loop course and participants receive a gender specific tech shirt, goody bag, and great post-race food.

Ultra Marathons:

Glacial Trail 50M 50K

October 9th, 2022

The Glacial Trail 50 is Wisconsin’s fall ultra, held in the Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest. Starting in Greenbush, runners will take a connector trail from town out to the Ice Age Trail, which comprises most of the course.  Hopefully fall colors will be at their peak!

Ice Age Trail

May 14th, 2022

Take yourself to the ultimate limit with the Ice Age Trail 50. Sign up to run the ultra marathon, 50K or half marathon in one the Midwest’s oldest endurance events. No matter if you are a seasoned vet or a first-time ultra runner, the Ice Age Trail 50 is a fantastic event. You’ll be running in dense deciduous forests, under tall pines, over rocky ridges, and across open prairies – and see lakes, kettles, kames, erratics, and other natural features left when the glaciers finally retreated from Wisconsin more than 10,000 years ago.
