10 Quick Ways to Feel Better About Yourself

10 Quick Ways to Feel Better About Yourself

Isn’t it sad how much time we spend putting ourselves down? Our negative thoughts about ourselves can bleed into all aspects of our lives, creating the environment for being less successful, less happy, and less satisfied. So below, I’ve listed 10 ways you can feel better about yourself, RIGHT NOW!

Easy ways to feel better:

  1. Do 5 minutes of exercise.—No surprise here, exercise stimulates feel good chemicals in your brain, and will make you feel better almost instantly.
  2. List your accomplishments.—You’ve done a lot in your life, put those accomplishments down on paper, so you can see them. See? Look at how much you’ve done!
  3. Clear your desk.—Getting that clutter cleared helps to stimulate those creative juices…and you have a nice clean desk! 🙂
  4. Meditate (or pray).—Go within. Let your ego drop away. Just be and step outside of self-judgment for a few minutes.
  5. Fix your hair and/or makeup.—When I’m having a bad day, some pampering always feels nice. In addition, I feel better because I look better. What about you?
  6. Apologize.—If you’ve done something wrong, apologize. Guilt and shame are such unhealthy emotions. Take care of this right away.
  7. Find something to give away.—If you have something you don’t need or use, give it to someone who will appreciate it and use it. You will feel great clearing your clutter (see above), and you’ve made someone else feel good!
  8. Lift someone’s spirits.—When you share positive thoughts, feelings and deeds with others, you feel better as well. Send a gift, a card, a happy thought, or share a compliment with someone.
  9. Change one thing you are unhappy about.—Does one specific thing keep bothering you? Your hairstyle? Weight? Closet? Pick just one thing, and make a plan to change it. You will be in charge of your destiny.
  10. Write a vision.—If you want to feel good about yourself every day for the rest of your life, then write out a plan for that. What is your life vision? Time to get started!
