The beneficiary of Elite’s “Have a Heart” campaign in the month of March is Project ADAM.

Project ADAM began in 1999 after the death of Adam Lemel, a 17-year-old Whitefish Bay High School student who collapsed and died while playing basketball. Adam suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), in which ventricular fibrillation occurred, a condition in which the ventricles cannot pump blood into the body. Defibrillation, or an AED, could have saved his life.

Adam’s parents, Patty Lemel-Clanton and Joe Lemel, collaborated with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Herma Heart Institute to create this program in Adam’s memory, which advocates for access to AEDs and CPR training in schools and communities.

How You Can Help

Become a Member in March: All enrollment fees will be donated to Project ADAM.

Attend a class during “Cardio Madness”: Elite will donate $1 per Cardio class attendee on March 20th at each club. Non-member guests are welcome to join us for classes on this day, but we ask for a minimum donation of $15 (typically what you’d pay for a guest fee) to Project ADAM via check or cash.

PLUS by attending cardio classes all month long you can earn raffle tickets! We’ll give away prize packs with Elite swag each week + you’ll be entered into a grand prize drawing for a MyZone MZ-3 Belt Heart Rate Monitor! ($149.99 value, see video below)

Get CPR Certified – ALL SESSIONS ARE FULL: We are offering Members and Non-Members an opportunity to get CPR certified for FREE during select training courses offered at our clubs. This training is for first-time certificates and is an Adult Blended Learning CPR course. (All sessions are currently full and wait-list only. If we choose to add more classes, we will indicate here, on Facebook, and send out an email.)
