Meet Livia Hollosy

  1. What position(s) do you currently hold at Elite and any you have held in the past?

I am a Senior Tennis Professional at Elite Sports Club-Mequon.

  1. How long have you been playing tennis?

I’ve been playing tennis since 2005. I started working at Elite in August 2022.

I earned a full scholarship at the  division I Northern Arizona University, one of my biggest accomplishments in tennis. I also played in some National Championship matches as part of the Cardinal Stritch Wolves team.

  1. What made you want to become a tennis pro?

Tennis is a lifelong sport. I love teaching the sport that people can play during their whole life. I especially love teaching the little ones and make them love the game from the beginning so they keep playing long term.

  1. What is your favorite part about your job? About tennis in general?

The beauty of tennis is that it can be played on many different levels and played by anyone. But also since I played and coached throughout college, which is semi-professional tennis, I am fascinated by the mental part of the game. Studying psychology during my undergraduate helped me understand a lot more of that side of the game and how important it is to succeed in a professional setting, as well as fun to learn about as a recreational player.

  1. What activities do you participate in at the club or outside of the club besides tennis?

I love taking pictures of couples and families in my free time. It is a side hobby of mine to capture these loving memories.

  1. How would you encourage someone who is considering tennis for the first time?

I would encourage them to have fun at the beginning. If they have fun the first time, they are more likely to come back again and get better and better over time.

  1. What advice do you give people who are just starting out in tennis?

Keep up the hard work and have fun learning something new. It is always a little frustrating to learn a new skill, but as long as you keep coming back working on things one by one, it will be more and more fun to play. You are learning a skill that can be used your whole life to have fun and make connections.
